About Twin DNA Testing
Twin DNA testing can help you find out if you or another set of twins are fraternal or identical. Identical twins share the same DNA because they come from one egg that splits and forms two embryos. Fraternal twins come from two different eggs and two different sperm. So unlike identical twins they won't share the exact same DNA but will have similar DNA like regular siblings. Usually at birth the physician can tell whether or not twins are identical but sometimes that information might become lost or the placenta was discarded/ damaged before it was determined. Knowing this information can be important for health reasons as well. Incases where a twin might need medical help, knowing if twins are identical is mandatory.
